I am She; and He is me – The Song of Communion

I am She; and He is me – The Song of Communion

Foreword: “SHE who ever had remained in the depth of my being, in the twilight of gleams and of glimpses; she who never opened her veils in the morning light, will be my last gift to thee, my God, folded in my final song. Words have wooed yet failed to win her; persuasion has stretched to her its eager arms in vain.

I have roamed from country to country keeping her in the core of my heart, and around her have risen and fallen the growth and decay of my life. Over my thoughts and actions, my slumbers and dreams, she reigned, yet dwelled alone and apart. Many a man knocked at my door and asked for her and turned away in despair.

There was none in the world who ever saw her face to face, and she remained in her loneliness waiting for thy recognition.” — From Gitanjali by Tagore.

Dear Reader – This poem is an outcome of my experiments with poetry, a medium completely new to me till I wrote this.

I was blessed to be guided subconsciously into this medium by The LightWeaver, aka, The Earthwoman. This poem is inspired by her, and is dedicated to the SHE in each of us, Men and Women.

I am sharing this poem during the festive season of Navaratri, as a tribute to womanhood and the concept of Ardhanarishvara.

I am She; and He is me

The longing seeks the Lover;

I am the longing, the Lover is He.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda Roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.

The pangs of separation dissolve into the bliss of Communion;

I am the separation, Communion is He.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.

The flash of lightning through the clap of Thunder;

I am the lightning, the Thunder is He.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda Roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.

The silence of the river flows into the roar of the Sea;

I am the river, the Sea is He.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.

The dance of the flame in the rage of the Fire;

I am the flame, the Fire is He.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.

The flower bedecked valley, nestled among the majestic Mountains

I am the valley, the Mountain is He.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.

The riot of the colours of light, dissolves into the caverns of Darkness;

I am Light, Darkness is He.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.

Sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, all merge into one Signal;

I am the senses, the Signal is He.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.

The Yin, and the Yang, born from the dance of Ardhanarishvara

I am Yin, the Yang is HE.

I am SHE; and HE is me.

Sa-Ham, So-Ham; Chidananda roopah, Shivoham Shivoham.
